The C.Scope MXL4D Datalogging Multi Frequency Locator is a versatile cable locator and tracer designed for a wide range of applications. Its standout feature is its ability to detect a variety of signal frequencies, allowing it to locate and trace everything from thin streetlight wiring to large utility pipes. The locator boasts multiple detectable frequencies, including 131kHz for locating short, thin, or unearthed wires, 33kHz for general purpose use, and 8kHz for tracing longer cables. Two ultra-low frequency signals, 512Hz and 640Hz, are also available for specialized tasks like locating blockages in metal pipes. These frequencies can be detected simultaneously for utility avoidance. The C.Scope MXL4D operates in conjunction with the C.Scope MXT4D Transmitter. As a standalone instrument, it can work in power and radio modes, detecting signals from live electric current and radio-type signals from subterranean metal surfaces. It also features an AllScan mode that detects signal frequencies outside the capabilities of other modes. The locator provides accurate depth indications from 0.1 to 9.99 meters with a resolution of 0.1 meters. Its peak hold function helps pinpoint pipe/cable location and trace the line of the utility by remembering the strongest signal location. AlarmZone™ warns the user about obstacles close to the surface, while the Swing Indicator alerts them if the locator is swinging too much for accurate readings. The C.Scope MXL4D's datalogging functionality allows it to store approximately 12 months' worth of data on its 2GB internal memory. This data can be transferred to a PC via a USB cable for further analysis and storage using the free C.Scope PC Toolkit software. Readings are displayed on the locator's clear LCD screen. The C.Scope MXL4D undergoes an automatic daily self-test to ensure accuracy and features a weatherproof, IP65-rated casing for use in challenging environments. It comes with a three-year warranty from the manufacturer.
