The C.Scope CXL4D Datalogging Cable Avoidance Tool is a versatile tool designed for construction, maintenance, and utility projects. It accurately locates underground cables and pipes, preventing hazardous cable strikes during excavation. The CXL4D offers four distinct measurement modes, allowing it to function as a standalone instrument or in conjunction with an SGA4 or SGV4 signal generator. In standalone mode, "Power" detects signals from live electric currents, while "Radio" identifies radio-type signals emitted by metal pipes and cables. When paired with a generator, the CXL4D can detect 33kHz or 131kHz signals, significantly enhancing accuracy and range of cable location. The 131kHz signal is particularly effective for locating thin, short, or unearthed cables. Additionally, "AllScan" mode detects a wide range of signal frequencies, ensuring comprehensive cable location. The CXL4D incorporates features that enhance user-friendliness and minimize errors. The "AlarmZone™" alert warns users of shallow cables/piping, minimizing accidental contact. The trigger depth is adjustable. The "Swing Alarm" alerts users if the locator is swinging excessively, potentially affecting accuracy. "Peak Hold" remembers the strongest signal location, pinpointing the cable or pipe. Results are displayed on the CXL4D's clear, backlit screen and stored in its internal memory, capable of holding approximately 12 months of readings under normal usage. Data can be transferred via USB to a PC for analysis using the free C.Scope PC Toolkit software.
