Electric motors, current/voltage transformers, cable lines, and other equipment can all have their insulation tested with the flexible Metrel MI3121H SMARTEC 2.5kV Insulation / Continuity Tester. The continuity testing feature can be used on PE conductors and main/supplementary PE connections, and it is perfect for use on the Cat IV supply side of installations, including industrial installations. With a maximum resolution of 0.01MΩ and a best accuracy of ±5%, the Metrel MI3121H SMARTEC's insulation testing function measures insulation resistance from 0MΩ to 99.9GΩ. Test voltages of 250V, 500V, 1000V, and 2500V DC are available. There are several diagnostic tools available, such as the dielectric absorption ratio (DAR) and polarisation index (PI), which assist in identifying whether insulation has been harmed. Regarding continuity testing, the Metrel MI3121H SMARTEC features a 7mA current that will prevent RCDs from tripping unnecessarily in addition to a standard 200mA test current for use on PE conductors. When conducting continuity tests, it is simple to connect thanks to automatic polarity swap. Voltage measurement between 0 and 550 volts and frequency measurement between 0 and 500 Hz are two more measurement functions. For both insulation resistance testing and continuity testing, the user has the ability to set their own PASS/FAIL limits.
