Manufacturer: Megger

In addition to electrical installations, cable testing, motor testing, automotive work, ESD, panel building, avionics, and other maintenance, the Megger MIT417/2 Cat IV Insulation Tester is a safe, multipurpose insulation tester that can be used for industrial and electrical purposes. The most significant improvement to the Megger MIT417/2's insulation testing capabilities over earlier models is that tests are now more accurate and pose less risk of damage because the maximum over voltage is only 2% instead of 10–20%. Feedback-controlled test voltages of 10V, 25V, 50V, 100V, 250V, 500V, or 1000V are available to the user, making it appropriate for a variety of testing applications, such as specialized applications in telecommunications, aviation, and voltage-sensitive electrical installations. Additionally, the device boasts dielectric absorption and polarisation index (PI). When using the Megger MIT417/2, users can feel confident because of its category IV safety rating up to 600V. Additionally, automatic voltage detection eliminates testing when voltage exceeds a predetermined limit, preventing damage and risk. Furthermore, if insulation resistance surpasses a set threshold, the buzzer alarm will sound. With the Megger MIT417/2, continuity testing is also possible because of the 200mA and 20mA test current options, which offer versatility and help preserve battery life. The resistance range is now continuously variable from 0.01Ω to 1MΩ, which simplifies operation and improves the clarity of results compared to earlier models. If the user adjusts the resistance level above, the buzzer alarm can be configured to sound. Another useful feature of the Megger MIT417/2 is true RMS voltage measurement with frequency readings, which enables the user to measure voltage up to 600V AC/DC while simultaneously conducting an insulation or continuity inspection. The Megger MIT417/2 is a weatherproof, sealed case that complies with industry standard IP54. It is an accurate, multipurpose insulation tester with additional features that can be used in a wide range of situations.
