Numerous testing applications, such as avionic system tests, military (land, marine, and air communications), production line, electrostatic measurements, and electronic component testing, can be performed with the Megger MIT420/2 Insulation Tester (1004-739). The Megger MIT410/2 has measurements up to 200GΩ and insulation resistance output voltages of 50, 100, 250, 500, and 1000V. It also has a variable range that lets the user choose the precise test voltage, which is accurate to -0% + 2%, from 10V to 1000V. Diagnostic tests for the dielectric absorption ratio (DAR) and polarisation index (PI) can be performed with this instrument. With an auto-null feature that allows resistances up to 10Ω to be zeroed before testing, the Megger MIT 420/2 is a low resistance ohm-meter that measures resistance across a range of 0.01 to 999kΩ. In addition, the Megger MIT 420/2 insulation tester has a bi-directional test current that allows the test to be reversed polarity without requiring the test leads to be switched. Capacitance, or electrical charge, can also be measured by the MIT 420/2 between 0.1 nF and 10 μF. Every model in the MIT4XX/2 range has a live circuit detection feature that shields the instrument and user from potential harm by prohibiting measurements from being made on live circuits. Up to 1000 records can be stored in the internal memory of the Megger MIT420/2. The ability to recall these test measurements at a later time makes this the perfect tool for identifying, mending, and inspecting malfunctioning electrical systems. Enclosed in an IP54-rated waterproof case that keeps the battery and fuse compartment dry and less likely to leak water in. Rubber over-moulding combines superior grip with an outer layer that absorbs shock. Officially, the Megger MIT4XX/2 models take the place of the MIT400, MIT410, MIT420, and MIT430 special application insulation testers. The following are the new series' primary advantages: over voltage limit of 2% as opposed to the industry standard of 10–20%, which eventually lowers the possibility of circuit and component damage; Variable test range: between 10V and 1000V, a precise and stable test voltage can be chosen (MIT420/2 and MIT430/2 only). Redesigned carry case with separate access to user-serviceable fuses, back stand, and compartment for six cell batteries. includes an owners information CD, six AA batteries, a hard carry case, red and black silicone test leads (with probes and clips), an SP5 switch probe for remote testing, and an owners manual.
