The Fluke 1587 FC is a novel combination of a multifunctional, handheld digital multimeter and an accurate digital insulation tester. With the wide range of test voltages (50 to 1000V) available on the 1587 FC, insulation resistance can be measured between 0.01MΩ and 2GΩ. The device offers the user choices for measuring AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, diode test, continuity test, frequency, capacitance, and temperature among other multimeter functions. High levels of accuracy are measured over wide ranges, and additional precision and versatility are provided by range and resolution options. Accuracy in measuring AC voltage and current is enhanced by true RMS measurement, and the Fluke 1587 FC incorporates a VFD low-pass filter to facilitate precise motor drive measurements. The measurement options of the Fluke 1587 FC are enhanced by more advanced features. The device's most notable feature is its ability to connect to the Fluke Connect App, which enables the user to view readings on a smartphone. With the help of the app, PI/DAR timed ratio tests—which utilize TrendIt graphs—can identify issues with moisture and contaminated insulation more rapidly. The app offers temperature compensation, and it also allows you to track asset trends in the past and digitally upload readings to a shared database. Another crucial feature of the Fluke 1587 FC is safety. When voltages higher than 30V are detected, a voltage detector stops insulation testing and automatically discharges the capacitive voltage to protect the user. The device has a Cat rating. All the accessories required for electrical troubleshooting and insulation testing, such as a Type-K thermocouple, crocodile clips, test leads, remote probe, hard case, and instruction manuals, are included with the Fluke 1587 FC.
